Veeraraghavan Elogs

👋 Hello, I’m Veeraraghavan Venkatesan

I’m the person behind NativeBreed.org — a space born out of curiosity, love for animals, and a deep respect for native heritage.

For years, I’ve been fascinated by the stories of indigenous animal breeds — dogs that guarded temples, cattle that endured deserts, horses that survived mountains. These breeds aren’t just animals; they’re part of our living history. Unfortunately, many are fading away, undocumented and forgotten.

That’s why I started NativeBreed.org — to create a digital archive where knowledge meets storytelling. From India’s rugged Rajapalayam dogs to Hungary’s noble Kuvasz, every article here is an attempt to preserve and pass on what should never be lost.

🧭 My Journey

I come from Tamil Nadu, a region rich in tradition and biodiversity. Growing up surrounded by local wisdom and stories, I gradually became passionate about protecting the things most people overlook — including our native breeds. With time, this passion turned into a research habit, and that habit became this platform.

🌱 What I Believe In

Preservation through awareness: When people know the value of native breeds, they start to care.
Knowledge for everyone: The platform is free, because heritage should never be behind a paywall.
Real stories, real people: I often document oral histories from farmers, herders, and old caretakers.
